Puffy Sleeves are in and I hope they’re here to stay. These tops are a staple this season and I just can’t get enough. They add a certain type of sophistication that no other piece can achieve. Classy and chic. Look great dressed up or down. If you don’t have one in your closet yet, what are you waiting for?
I paired mine with these super flattering River Island plaid trousers, clear heels and a cute clear bag from The Ouai for a more weekend appropriate look but it can definitely be paired with anything. Typically, I would try to keep it less busy on the bottom since puff sleeves are the statement piece, but since this top is cropped, white and subtle, I figured it would spice it up a bit for my Sunday “boat” look.
These puff sleeves are proof that history repeats itself, especially in fashion since these dramatic and voluminous sleeves come from the Victorian era and have turned into feminine statement piece this summer that really help accentuate your silhouette.
To style this piece, I would recommend sticking to something a little more fitted at the bottoms to really highlight your sleeves. I would steer away from a circle or maxi skirt since it won’t be as easy on the eyes. Play around with it! Dress it up, with a bodycon skirt, or dress it down with your favorite pair of skinny jeans, either way, the puff sleeve trend is a must-try this season. It’s just another way to spruce up your classic white top.
